VAMOZ VS SPLITWISE
Splitwise tracks money. Vamozy plans the trip.
Splitwise is the gold standard for splitting expenses among friends. Free, well-loved, and used by 50M+ people worldwide — it does one thing very well: the math.
Feature by feature
Partial = available with limits or paid upgrade. Accurate as of April 2026.
Which one is right for you?
Splitwise is the right call when your only need is post-trip math. You already have a plan, everyone paid separately, and you just want to figure out who owes whom. It excels at that specific job.
Vamozy is for the full arc: when your crew is still figuring out what to do, who books the Airbnb, and how to collect money before the trip happens. If you need planning + payments + settle-up in one place, Vamozy is built for that.
Vamozy handles the whole trip arc: voting on activities, assigning who books what, pooling money in Stripe escrow, and settling up at the end. Splitwise only covers the last step.
Common questions
Can I migrate my Splitwise data to Vamozy?
Not yet. Vamozy is built around planning future trips, so it works best when you start a new trip from scratch. Manual expense entry is on the roadmap.
Does Vamozy charge more than Splitwise?
Both are free for core use. Vamozy charges 1.5% only when someone funds the trip pool via card through Stripe. If your group settles with Venmo or cash, Vamozy costs nothing.
Can my friends join Vamozy without creating an account?
Yes. Friends see the trip, vote, and view itineraries just with a link. Account creation is only needed to pay into the pool or claim a booking task.
Ready to plan your next trip?
